Darrance Tezino

Founder & Systems Architect

Building AI systems for clarity, identity, and autonomy.

I spent 15+ years building enterprise systems where every decision had to scale across millions of users. That taught me that problems aren't solved with features—they're solved with systems.

But I realized the most important problems weren't in boardrooms. They were in people's lives: reputation under attack, memories being lost, privacy being sold, documents being weaponized, money just disappearing.

So I started building products. Not features. Systems designed to give people back control over identity, clarity, and digital life.

Every product I ship is built on the same principle: remove friction, restore dignity, enable autonomy. That's not a tagline. That's the architecture.

"I build AI systems that give people clarity and control."

That's what I've been doing for the last decade. And it's what I'll keep doing—one system, one human problem, one moment of clarity at a time.

Houston's Grid
Emergency Brain

When a hurricane knocks out power for millions of people, someone has to be in the room that coordinates getting the lights back on. As Director of Technology, I led the complete technical buildout of this Fortune 500 emergency command center—from vendor selection through final deployment and 3-year SLA management.

⚡

What CenterPoint Does

CenterPoint Energy delivers electricity and natural gas to 7+ million homes and businesses across Texas, Indiana, Ohio, and Minnesota. When your lights go out, they're the ones who fix it.

🌀

What an EOC Is

An Emergency Operations Center is the command room that activates during disasters. Think NASA Mission Control — but for the power grid. Every department leader sits in one room, seeing the same data, making decisions in real time.

🔨

What Darrance Built

As Director of Technology, he led the technology build-out of this entire facility — selecting the systems, managing the partners, and delivering a state-of-the-art command center on a Fortune 500 timeline.

What Was Actually Built

25 distinct spaces — each one engineered for a specific role in an emergency.

Main Emergency Operations Center

68' × 6' LED Wall

🏗️

Built to Protect Millions of Texans

Following Hurricane Harvey and subsequent major storms, CenterPoint Energy launched the Greater Houston Resiliency Initiative (GHRI) in late 2024—a multi-year plan to make Houston's grid the most resilient coastal grid in the United States. The modernized EOC handles large-scale weather events with improved efficiency and serves as the central hub for disaster response and grid restoration across Greater Houston.

The Complete Build-Out: 25 distinct rooms across Floors 24, 25, and 47 featuring a 68′ × 6′ Cyviz X-Series LED wall, 72 independent Televic microphones, dual security command centers, 10 departmental collaboration spaces, 8 regional team rooms, and 7 support facilities. Three-year extended maintenance with preventive SLA and four emergency visits annually.

Leadership Philosophy

Built on More Than Business

The real measure of leadership is the doors you open for others. Every decision Darrance makes is informed by that standard.

Developing the Next Generation

Darrance invests directly in emerging tech talent from underrepresented backgrounds across Houston and beyond. Through ComTech Training and hands-on community workshops, he has guided dozens of first-generation professionals into meaningful tech careers — arming them not just with skills, but with the mindset and confidence to lead.

Rooted in Houston, Invested in Texas

Born and built in Houston, Darrance has channeled time, capital, and technology into Black and minority-owned businesses across the state. From connecting small business owners to growth capital, to building accessible tools for underserved communities — his work is a sustained economic investment in the people and places that shaped him.

Technology With a Higher Standard

Every platform Darrance leads was designed around a simple standard: does it create real opportunity for someone who was overlooked? Privacy tools, financial access, travel equity, legal intelligence, heritage preservation — these aren't side bets. They're a deliberate, coordinated strategy to put technology where it has always been needed most.

A Blueprint Others Can Follow

Through speaking, mentorship, and building publicly, Darrance demonstrates what's possible for Black and minority tech leaders in Texas. His approach is straightforward: show up, build well, share the path, and prove that innovation doesn't begin or end in Silicon Valley.
